Cookridge Primary School’s Admissions Policy Consultation

RE: Consultation on admission arrangements

I am writing to notify you of the upcoming consultation on the school’s admissions policy.  The consultation period will run from 20th December 2019 until 31st January 2020; during this time, parents are invited to express their views and any concerns about the proposed changes to the admission arrangements at Cookridge Primary School.

In accordance with the DfE’s 2014 statutory ‘School Admissions Code’ guidance, as a school we must consult on our admissions arrangements when changes are proposed, and at least once every seven years.

Changes proposed

To this end, the following amendments to our admission arrangements have been proposed:

  • The inclusion of a new priority for children of members of staff.

            (Reason –retention of staff)

  • Changes to the catchment area.

            (Reason – to reflect current school demographic)

In accordance with statutory DfE guidance, the consultation will run for six weeks and, as an interested party at Cookridge Primary, we are keen to hear your views on the proposed changes; therefore, we invite you to participate in the consultation if you have any concerns regarding the matter.

All responses to the consultation should be made in writing and submitted by 12:00 noon on 31st January 2020 to the school office for attention of the Head teacher (this can be via email, direct via the websites online form (Below) or by post to:

Please note that written responses should outline your personal details, including your name, address and relationship to the school.

At the end of the consultation period, a sub-committee of the Governing Body will meet to consider responses and submit a final policy to the full Governing Body for approval.
