UKS2 – Years 5 & 6 Only – Permission to walk home alone

Dear Parents/Carers,

In Years 5 and 6 only, pupils have the opportunity to walk home alone from school. We feel this plays an important role in helping them develop their independence in preparation for high school. This year, as you are aware, the home time for all children is at 15.20. If you choose to continue to collect your child, it is vital that you meet them at this time. In UKS2, all pupils, whether they are collected or not, leave through the top gate next to the school car park.

We recommend that parents do not meet their children who walk home alone from school, unless arrangements are made for them to meet away from the school gates. Once a child who walks home has left school, they are deemed under the care of their parent/guardian.

If this form is not completed,  your child does not have permission to walk home alone and will have to be collected, regardless of if they have had permission from the previous year. 

Please fill out the form below as soon as possible so we have this information for the end of day procedures starting on Tuesday 5th September 2023.

If your child has moved classes and/or year groups, please ensure you select the relevant categories on the app so that they receive the correct correspondence from school moving forward.
