PE Grant

At Cookridge Primary School over the last few years we have spent a lot of time improving the quality of our PE provision and increasing sporting opportunities for all pupils. We offer a wide variety of experiences, have access to good quality teaching/coaching and take part in a lot of competitive sport. What is the PE & Sport Premium for in primary schools? The PE and sport premium is designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.

In an attempt to capture all children’s excitement towards PE, we have introduced a fortnightly PE session called – Alternative PE. This session has be set up to meet our legal requirements around the National Curriculum but also to engage those children that were disengaged with PE previously.

Some of the new PE skills learnt are in the sports of: Climbing, Cycling, Fencing, Bounce (Trampolining), Darts, Boccia, Curling, Handball, Rugby, Ultimate Frisby, Zumba, Tomahawk throwing etc.
