Class 1 & 2 – The Great Fire of London – Burning the houses

Key Stage one had an exciting morning observing how The Great Fire of London spread. We reminded ourselves of what the houses were made out of, how they were positioned so close to each other and what the weather was like in September 1666. We then set light to the bakery and watched how it spread. There were shrieks of delight and awe as the flames grew bigger and we realised why some people were very keen to start pulling down houses to stop the spread of the fire.
