What a great what to a new half term!

This week in Phonics we have learnt the sounds ‘n’ and ‘m’ and sorted different objects that have these phonemes as initial sounds. Later in the week we had a go at using our pencils carefully to write the initial sound for different words.

In Maths we have been focusing on the numbers 1,2 and 3. We have worked on our subitising skills, recognising how many objects are in a group without counting, as well as practising counting both things that can and cant be moved. We even had a go at making our own games and taking turns to keep score!

On Wednesday we had Forest School day. In the morning, we used natural resources to make pictures of things starting with ‘n’ or ‘m’ and also hunted for objects that looked the same. Once we had found these objects we placed them by the correct numeral, e.g. 2 long brown sticks went by the number 2. in the afternoon, we have a great time with Mr Morgan sitting around the fire, building obstacle courses, digging and playing on the tree house!
