EYFS – Newsletter – 20/11/2020

Another super week in Reception had by all!

In phonics we have looked at the sounds ‘o’ and ‘c’ as well as starting to practise segmenting and blending sounds to read and write cvc words.

In maths we have investigated using number lines to help with our counting as well as finding not only one more but two!

On Wednesday we had lots of fun in Forest School. We read a story in class and then went up to the garden to retell in with our friends. Whilst outside we also rolled different natural objects down pieces of guttering to look at the range of shapes and properties. In the afternoon, we had fun with Mr Morgan playing on the tyre swing, painting the fence and making popcorn on the fire!

We have begun preparations for our Christmas play (very exciting)! If your child has brought home lines please practise these over the next week or so. Regarding costumes, we have a selection in school however if you wish to provide your own child’s costume that is fine. Providing your own costume is NOT compulsory.

Next week it is PE on Tuesday.

Reading books need to be in on a Friday so they can be quarantined before children take new ones home on Monday
