Key Stage 1 – Newsletter – 13.9.19

We started the week with a slumber, as we had our pyjama day! It was a fun filled day, starting with dream games and songs in the hall, followed by writing dream stories, creating dream protectors and making dioramas of what might happen in our dreams.

Our ‘I wonder…’ question this week, was ‘I wonder what a Scientist looks like and what they might do?’ They quickly realised that it does not have to be an old man, with crazy hair, a white coat and potion bottles! Why not ask them what a scientist REALLY looks like and what they learn and know about.

Year 1 have been focusing on their counting this week and playing a variety of maths games. In English they have been writing recounts of what they did on the pyjama day.

Year 2 have been working on their place value knowledge in maths and are working hard on their hand writing in English. We have been practising in a variety of ways both inside and outside the classroom.
