LKS2 – Class 7 – Maths

Today, we used equivalent fractions to help us convert fractions to decimals, looking at tenths. We used an empty hundred square to consider how many squares would be one tenth, two tenths (etc…). Then, we considered how you would write a fraction (or a number smaller than 1) as a decimal, using fractions and the hundred square to represent this pictorially. We also used place value charts to visually represent how many tenths we had, using a place holder to help us write this.
