LKS2 – Donkey Sanctuary

This week at the Donkey Sanctuary, pupils learnt about donkey healthcare, hygiene and grooming. They began my labelling the body parts of the donkey using a cuddly toy one called David. After that, the children learnt about the different types of brushes used for cleaning the donkeys’ feet, head and body before heading outside to put their new found skills to the test. Using a variety of brushes and techniques, pupils led the grooming session by removing dead hair from the donkeys’ backs, Cleaning the nostrils and eye lids using a wet wipe and cleaned their manes of dust, straw and mud.
