LKS2 – Roman Bread Making – Forest School

In preparation for our parent event this afternoon, some pupils from LKS2 came up to the Forest School area to use their fire making skills in order to create Roman style bread. Following the same recipe Romans used to bake their bread, children created the dough, left it to prove and then baked it in a portable oven over the fires they created. Pupils had to work together, problem solve and communicate effectively to co-ordinate the fires being hot enough and the supply of dough was effective to avoid backlogs in the production chain.
