LKS2 – Science – Creating line graphs and exploring seed dispersal

LKS2 were investigating the explosive method of seed dispersal. The children created their own line graphs using tape for the axis. They measured different amounts of seeds and filled balloons with them. After they had blown them up, children popped the balloons to replicate the explosive method of seed dispersal and measured the distance their furthest seed had traveled. The children then completed their graphs by plotting their data and connecting the data points with string. As a class, the children discussed what the line graphs showed them and whether or not the amount of seeds inside a pod had an impact on the distance the seeds were dispersed.
