Today, Miss Bennett’s class used oracy to help them plan their re-written traditional tale: ‘The Flying Dutchman’. First, we considered alternative endings, thinking about how the story could have ended in a different way. Then, we read about lots of different sightings of the ship to add detail to our final paragraph. We acted this out, making sure to focus on the behaviour of the protagonist and antagonist. Then, we created story roads as a way to plan our narrative, using our word mats to help us with vocabulary and conjunctions to include. We will use these next week to write.
