Nurture Group – Forest School

We’ve had great fun this morning at Forest School as we made chocolate Easter nests over a fire. We helped Mr Gamble keep the fire alive and to make it big and hot enough to melt chocolate. Using fire gloves, we added in sticks and, once the cooking equipment was in place, we also helped to stir the melting chocolate to stop it from burning. Whilst doing so, we discussed Easter, the dangers of fire and the process of melting. Once the chocolate was runny, we added it to a bowl of cornflakes, mixed it together and then scooped the mixture into bun cases. For the finishing touch, we added a chocolate egg before leaving them to set and eating them back in the classroom for snack time!
