Reception – Forest School

What a wintry wonderland we have enjoyed today in our Forest School session! The ice and snow added that little bit of extra magic and we thoroughly enjoyed making ice-creams, ice pies, ‘iceshakes’ and more in our temporary Ice Kitchen! Children also collected loose parts and put them in plates with strong and water in the hope they freeze overnight to create icy hanging decorations for the Reception playground tomorrow – keep your eyes peeled for the results on Friday! Pupils also helped Mr Gamble maintain a fire which we all used at some point in the morning to warm up our toes and fingers whilst all of us loved a winter walk with Mr Verdi on the school field where we tracked animals using their footprints and looked at different ice patterns on fallen leaves. Finally, all the pupils had the opportunity to visit our new goats – Nigel and Doughnut – and give them a tasty morning snack.
