Reception – Forest School

Reception loved their session today which linked to the upcoming Bonfire Night. The morning consisted of multiple ‘free-flow’ activities where pupils were able to choose their own tasks, challenges and learning. There was a bonfire challenge where pupils worked together to help Mr Gamble build, light and maintain a bonfire. After it was hot enough, pupils cut apples into quarters and inserted a lollipop stick so they could dip them in fresh, melted chocolate from the fire they helped to make earlier. To add the finishing touch, children added sprinkles before leaving them to set. Children also had the opportunity to visit and feed the animals, test their physical prowess on the ninja slackline, dig and play in the sand and mud pits and create firework collages made out of autumnal leaves.
