Tuesday Group – Forest School

It was a cold but beautiful afternoon for our Forest School session. With the forecasted weather predicted to dip below freezing, we discussed how ice is formed and its properties before beginning our challenge – to make an ice hanging decoration! We searched high and low in the school grounds for different natural materials of all textures, colours, shapes and sizes and added them to our plate. We then added a loop of string to the bottom of our plate before rearranging our objects to create a pattern or image of our choice before leaving to freeze overnight. The next day, we were surprised to see our finished decorations, all perfectly held together by ice. We chose to hang them around the school grounds for others to enjoy looking at.
