UKS2 – English roleplay

In English this week, the children have conducted their own research to discover some of the advantages of living near volcanoes. Over the course of two days this week, the children developed their own news reports or TV advert to persuade people to live near a volcano.

On the first day, the children developed a script in their groups. They included: the reasons why to live near a volcano from their own research, a catchy and exciting story or slogan, and enthusiastic and emotive language.

On the second day, they finished their scripts and performed their persuasive pieces to the class. Their performances were enthusiastic and believable. Finally, we evaluated the persuasiveness of each group’s performances.
