UKS2 – Newsletter – 10/09/2021

It has been a fantastic first week back in UKS2!  In History on Wednesday, we revisited key events in our world History. Tasked with placing these events on a timeline, the children practiced fluency in topics from the entire history curriculum, including: the Egyptians, the Stone Age and the Aztecs.

Also this week, all classes have been revisiting basic mathematical skills in a fun filled carousel. Completing activities including: times table games, place value problem solving and an introduction to Mathletics, the children have worked exceptionally hard in their first week back!

Yesterday, we celebrated our first week back by completing team building games and activities on the field. Challenged with a range of tasks, the children had to conquer scavenger hunts, complete challenges without talking and even do some drama! All the children engaged brilliantly, and thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed afternoon in the September sun.

Finally, our ‘Learnatics’ for this week are William and Kate (Class 8), Jude and Yaseen (Class 9) and Yusuf and Vincent (Class 10). Keep up the outstanding work everyone!

We hope you have all had a fantastic week back in school! Remember, next week is Week 1 (our timetable is on the school website). The children must attend school in Forest School clothing on Monday (13/09/2021) and PE kit on Thursday (16/09/2021).
