We have had a wonderful week in Class 3!
We read three books this week. The first one was called ‘Incredible you’ which was all about how special we all are. Then, we created our very own jigsaw by drawing all the things that make us incredible on each piece, cut it out and got our friends to solve the puzzle! We also loved creating a picture that included drawings and words that reflect how amazing we are and all the talents we have! Forest school in the afternoon was really fun as we got to make ‘friendship sticks’, play in the treehouse and search for dinosaur footprints.
On Wednesday, we read the book ‘What makes me a me?’ We spoke all about what makes us unique and what our likes/dislikes are. We found out many things that are similar and different about each other. Then, we created our very own monsters by rolling a dice to determine what body part we would add. Our monsters looked very crazy! We also got to draw one of our favourite characters, Bluey! Finally, we had choosing in the afternoon which is always good fun!
On Thursday, we explored a new book called ‘There’s only one you.’ This book helped us to recognise more ways in which we are similar and different. After this, we completed a range of calming activities that included wordsearches, doodling and mazes. We also loved completing our hand puppets by carefully stitching together different fabrics. Mrs Williams really helped us with this.
Finally, on Friday, we got to start off our day with some relaxing yoga. After this, we listened and engaged with a Now Press Play that was titled ‘We are all different.’ This allowed us to reflect on many things such as different cultures, food and homes. Then, we personalised our very own bookmarks by writing our names and drawing all the things that we love. At the end of the day, we had green time!
Throughout the week, we got lots of choosing time in our new classroom which made our week even more fun!
