Year 2 have enjoyed exploring new phonics sounds and rules over the last two weeks. We have learnt the rule of adding -es to words ending in ‘y’ changing them from singular to plural and the ‘gn’ saying ‘n’ sound. We have played games and completed challenges to help us read and write lots of words containing these sounds.
In reading, Year 2 have enjoyed lots of activities to deepen our understanding of definitions/word meaning. These have ranged from matching definitions to pictures, worksheets and even multiple choice questions!
