Year 4 – World Mental Health Day – Forest School

Today is World Mental Health Day 2025 – also known as ‘Yellow Day.’ To celebrate this, Year 4 pupils have enjoyed spending their Forest School sessions this afternoon based on promoting the importance of mental health and wellbeing and how being outdoors in nature can help. We had a dedicated calm area where we put up hammocks in the trees to focus on how important it is to stop, relax and listen at times and take time out of our busy schedules as well as taking part in some outdoor yoga, sit spotting and tree hugging. Children also had the opportunity to create a yellow inspired bracelet or crown using yellow loose parts found on the school field and playing amongst the trees, focusing on the positive impact nature can have on our feelings.
