This week in Maths, Year 2 have been learning all about 2D shapes. We used stencils to create drawings of Christmas elves, robots and snowmen using circles, semi-circles, squares, triangles and rectangles. We also sorted different shapes based on their sides and vertices – and whether they were polygons or non-polygons. Finally, we learnt about symmetry by using mirrors to investigate and find lines of symmetry on different shapes. To recap everything we had learned, we played a “Guess Who?” game, asking questions to guess different shapes.
