EYFS – Dinosaurs – Forest School – 11.6.26
Despite the rain once again, pupils in Reception have thoroughly enjoyed their morning at Forest School which was all themed around dinosaurs! Children were told of strange footprints found on the field and how dinosaurs, much like our chickens, made nests and laid eggs. With excitement building, pupils set off to find out more and were amazed to find several dinosaur nests with eggs in which they returned to the canopy classroom where there was a fire going. Well, there was only one thing to do – cook them! The children loved their fried dinosaur eggs and dipped bread into the yolk – what a great snack to have! Children also used the sandpits to create sand dinosaurs where they created herbivores, carnivores, scary ones, friendly ones and entire families! In the mud pit, children got creative and recreated the land of the dinosaurs using toys, making caves, forests, swamps, volcanoes and it quickly became a tar pit with the amount of rain we had with pupils and dinosaurs alike sinking into the mud! Luckily, the teachers managed to rescue all the pupils however 7 dinosaurs were not that fortunate and have sunk somewhere in the pit!
