EYFS – Dino Rescue – Forest School – 16.6.26

Last week in Reception’s Forest School session, our dig pit turned into a tar pit in torrential rain where pupils and toy dinosaurs sank into the abyss. Luckily, all the pupils were pulled free, however 7 dinosaurs sank with no trace. Today, pupils embarked on a rescue mission! By becoming archaeologists, children used trowels, forks and brushes to carefully search for the ‘fossilised’ dinosaur remains. When found, the joy and excitement on the pupils’ faces were great to see and Mr Gamble felt a huge sigh of relief as the dinosaurs belong to Mrs Andrews! As well as this, pupils used clay to make their own dinosaurs using natural materials and we visited the chicks which have returned to school. We discussed the evolution process from dinosaurs to chickens and the similarities and differences the children could spot with the chicks since the last time they saw them.
