LKS2 – Artist Study – Art – 21.9.26

LKS2 children have been exploring the artwork of Scottish artist Joan Eardley in their latest art lesson. The children spent time looking closely at Eardley’s artwork and discussing what they noticed about her use of colour, texture, line and materials. They explored how she captured the landscapes and people around her, and thought carefully about how artists can use different techniques to communicate what they see and feel. The children then had the opportunity to experiment with a range of art materials and techniques, taking inspiration from Eardley’s approach. It was wonderful to see the children making creative choices, experimenting with different techniques and developing their own artistic ideas. They were also able to talk about how Joan Eardley had influenced their work and explain the choices they had made. Well done to everyone for being curious, creative and willing to experiment!
