Reception children developed their skills in communication and critical thinking today. They were set a challenge to assist the animals in finding their breakfast on the other side of the river. The bridges had all collapsed and the only materials we had to work with were paper, paper straws and lollipop sticks. The children were able to communicate great ideas, develop load-bearing structures that could withstand an elephant doing backflips and later discuss how the bridges could have been made even stronger.
