Y4 – World Mental Health Day – Forest School – 8/10/26

Year 4 pupils have enjoyed an afternoon of Forest School activities based on promoting the importance of mental health and wellbeing and how being outdoors in nature can help as we build up to celebrating World Mental Health Day in school tomorrow. There was a dedicated calm area where children put up hammocks in the trees to focus on how important it is to stop, relax and listen at times and take time out of our busy schedules as well as taking part in some outdoor yoga, sit spotting and tree hugging. On the other side of the canopy, children had the opportunity to boost their mental health with busier, noisier activities such as den building and role playing as well as creating their own games in the marked-out area. There was also the opportunity to craft necklaces, bracelets or other decorations and items using yellow objects and sticks.
