LKS2 – Class 5 – English

This week in English, LKS2 are working towards writing a newspaper report. Yesterday, the children looked at real newspapers to discover the features of a newspaper article. Working in pairs, they discussed what they noticed about the layout and contents of a newspaper. Then they were given a checklist of things that all newspaper reports contain, including catchy headlines and pictures with captions. They cut out examples of each feature and stuck them on to an A3 sheet of paper. Now they have all the information they need to write their own proper newspaper report!
