LKS2 – Class 5 – Forest Schools Mental Wellbeing

This week it is mental health week, and in Class 5 we have been learning how nature and the natural world can help our mental wellbeing. We started with a listening exercise, where we closed our eyes and focused on the sounds around us. We discussed how this made us feel calm and peaceful, and could be used as a strategy to calm us down if we were feeling angry or upset. Next, we took our shoes and socks off and enjoyed the feeling of the ground beneath our bare feet. We imagined being a tree and rooted ourselves to the ground. Perhaps our favourite activity was cloud gazing! In small groups, we looked up at the sky and found shapes and images in the clouds.
