EYFS – Christmas Robots

This term, as part of our Toytown topic, the children have been enlisted by Santa to help at an outpost of his North Pole workshop in our DT area. All the children have been asked to build a toy robot to help Santa keep up with his orders. First they designed their robots, thinking what materials and tools they may need, and then began by selecting wood to start work. They cut and joined wood using tools safely and added details to make each robot complete.

On Monday night Teddy, our class elf, took the robots to the North Pole to give them to Santa. He returned on Tuesday morning with a letter from Santa explaining that his elves had worked overtime and now had enough for Christmas. To thank the children in Reception for their hard work, Santa told them to keep their robots as an early Christmas present!
