EYFS – Exploring Mark Making – Art – 15.9.26
This week in our EYFS art lesson, the children were inspired by the book It’s Okay to Be Different by Todd Parr. We talked about the things that make each of us special and celebrated our individual differences and unique qualities. The children then explored and created different marks using a range of tools, materials and movements. They were encouraged to choose a tool or material to explore and experimented with making marks in different ways, changing the direction, size, shape, colour and pressure of their marks. As they worked, the children thought about something that made them special and used their creativity to express their ideas through mark-making. They enjoyed sharing their creations and talking about what they had discovered, developing their confidence in expressing themselves and celebrating what makes them unique.
