EYFS – Forest School

We have been getting into the Christmas spirit this morning with Reception enjoying a lovely morning outside. First of all, we played a version of tig from two weeks ago in which pupils had to listen and follow the rules and stay within a set area. Afterwards, children listened to Stickman by Julia Donaldson and wwere tasked with making their own stick people using sticks, string and scissors. Although it wasn’t easy, children found that patience, problem solving and teamwork were the magical ingredients needed to succeed. Once their stick creation was finished, children could take it outside on its very own adventure – just like in the book! Children also had the opportunity to develop their den building skills from last time using tarps and den building poles. What a busy and fun morning Reception!
