EYFS – Forest School – 24/9/26

Today in Forest School, pupils in EYFS continued to explore our Forest School area. A fundamental part of Forest School is child-led learning and that is exactly what pupils in Reception had the opportunity to do. There was a range of activities on offer to them, including den building, the sandpit, role-play, swings, hammocks, games, the water tray and the mud kitchen. All the pupils were free to lead their own learning and follow their interests with some pupils choosing new things to do, some picking to choose things they’d experienced last time but with an extra challenge or to play with others to strengthen friendships and communication skills. After snack and story time, our school goats came to say hello and meet the children too! Children began learning how we look after them, their names and how to walk them safely. Groups took turns to walk Nigel and Lara up and down the field, making sure they weren’t walking too fast and pulling too strongly whilst another team followed behind the goats with the all-important poo scoopers and trowels to clean up any goat presents left behind to ensure the field stays a safe area for children to learn in.
