EYFS – Newsletter – 15.09.2023

We have had a super week in reception!

The children have all had a great time exploring all of the different areas of the classroom, inside and out! The obstacle course has been a big hit with many children successfully tackling the challenge and even asking for us to make it harder next week! Another popular activity has been singing and dancing outside, we certainly have several children who are destined for a career on the stage. Inside, we have take turns being the shopkeeper in our class ASDA, build towers in the construction area and practised counting with several game on the interactive whiteboard.

In the art area, we have looked at the artist Henri Matisse and used strips of paper to create our on artwork inspired by his work.

On Thursday we had forest schools and enjoyed investigating all of the different activities in the garden. We hope you liked the pictures from this posted yesterday!

Next week we will be continuing our topic ‘All About Me’ by adding pictures to our class maps to show places people have visited. If your child would like to share a photo of a UK city or other country from around the world then please post it on Tapestry and we will show them on the big whiteboard in class.

Birthday notice: You will no doubt be aware that we are a ‘healthy school’ and as such, want to promote children being healthy in all areas. Therefore, one initiative we would like to promote is around birthdays. Many children bring in sweets and treats to share with their friends when it is their birthday. We will not stop children doing this if this is their preferred way of celebrating, however, please be aware they MUST NOT CONTAIN NUTS. Another way of celebrating was introduced a number of years ago now. Children can bring in a book for the class library (The can be new or a good condition second hand book) and the child will be able to put a special sticker in the front to say it was donated for their birthday.

Have a lovely weekend!
