EYFS Newsletter – 18/02/22

Happy holiday to you all! It has been a long and busy half term and the children have done brilliantly!

In Phonics we have looked at the graphemes ‘oo’ and ‘oa’ and the three different phonemes that they can make. We have practising reading and writing words and sentences using these graphemes along with all the other we have learnt so far, and many children have enjoyed challenging themselves to continue this writing independently.

In Maths we have been recapping and consolidating our counting skills from this half term. We had a great time searching for and counting how many of each different sea creature we could find as well as adding pairs of these numbers together to find the total.

After half term we will be celebrating World Book Day as a school. On World Book Day children we be allowed to come to school dressed up as a character from a book so have a think over the holidays about who you could be! The book we will be focusing on is ‘Aliens love Underpants’ by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort and the teachers in Reception will be dressed accordingly so any children that wish to join us as aliens are very welcome!

We hope you all stay safe and well and have a lovely relaxing half term!
