EYFS – Outdoor Play – Forest School

Today in Forest School EYFS enjoyed their first exploration of our Forest School area. A fundamental part of Forest School is child-led learning and that is exactly what pupils in Reception had the opportunity to do. There was a range of activities on offer to them, including den building, the sandpit, role-play, swings, hammocks, games, the mud kitchen and challenges – such as the weighing scales! All the pupils were free to lead their own learning and follow their interests with some pupils choosing new things to do, some picking to choose things they’d experienced before but with an extra challenge or to play with others to strengthen friendships and communication skills. A lovely morning outdoors in the sun EYFS – well done!
