This week, Reception have had a fantastic time visiting Tropical World across the past three days. To complement our ‘Amazing Animals’ topic, we have relished the opportunity to get a close look at some beautiful creatures from tropical rainforest and desert climates. Our visits gave us a first hand experience of the warm and humid habitats that these animals inhabit in the wild, which really helps us to better understand differences in climates around the world and how this is reflected in the different animals that inhabit various countries.
We were all glad to step into the tropical warmth after the rather chilly and wet weather we’ve had this winter! The children had a fantastic time and were all so polite and respectful as we moved through the exhibits and asked some really good questions to help them better know and understand the many animals we saw. We saw many animals but our favourites were the meerkats, snakes, monkeys and the crocodile!
