Forest School – Stickman

Today, pupils were read Julia Donaldson’s Stickman story. Afterwards, they discussed the plot, sequenced events and thought of other possible dilemmas Stickman could have faced. Then, Mr Gamble taught pupils how to use secateurs and loppers to cut sticks to size and how to secure them together using a technique called frapping. The challenge was to create their own stick character which will be used in next week’s session where pupils will create a story featuring their creation.
