KS1 – Den Building – Forest School

Today, pupils in KS1 revisited a skill they learnt back in March in order for them to remain confident in it. In groups, children were tasked with creating one of the three dens we learnt how to make – ‘Teepee, Lean-To or A-Frame.’ Groups were also given tarps to help them provide a roof to shade themselves from the sun. Groups chose a sensible spot for the type of shelter they wanted to make then worked together to build it. At first, it wasn’t an easy task as many dens collapsed but, after some positive thoughts, good communication and problem solving what went wrong, teams had another go and were successful! If there was time, teams decorated their dens adding seats and traps to protect their area from others. Well done KS1 on applying your skills from before.
