KS1 – Fire Lighting and Play- Forest School
What a lovely day we have enjoyed in the Forest School garden area today. KS1 were able to explore and engage in creative play in a number of areas. Children could use the mud kitchen to make delicious meals, explore the loose parts in the tough tray to make items using their imaginations, play in the sandpit where we had some marvellous rivers, castles and underground worlds or use the tree house and swings to engage in physical, outdoor fun. The final challenge was in the fire pit where pupils could learn to use a flint and steel to make a spark before moving onto the ultimate challenge – setting cotton wool on fire all by themselves! I am pleased to say, every pupil who attempted this was successful and they were so proud of themselves! Well done KS1 on a fabulous day!
