KS1 – World Mental Health Day – Forest School
On Thursday, it is World Mental Health Day 2025. To celebrate this, Key Stage One pupils have enjoyed a day of Forest School activities based on promoting the importance of mental health and wellbeing and how being outdoors in nature can help. We used loose parts to create an Autumn Colour Hunt card where children used different coloured objects to complete. We had a dedicated calm area where we put up hammocks in the trees to focus on how important it is to stop, relax and listen at times and take time out of our busy schedules as well as taking part in some outdoor yoga, sit spotting and tree hugging. Children also had the opportunity to create a yellow inspired bracelet or crown using yellow loose parts found on the school field and playing amongst the trees, focusing on the positive impact nature can have on our feelings.
