LKS2 – Bonfire Night – Forest School – 5/11/26

Remember, remember the 5th of November, gunpowder, treason and plot! To celebrate Bonfire Night, pupils in LKS2 spent their Forest School session today marking this annual event with bonfires of their own after recapping the history of Bonfire Night. Using their fire skills from before half-term, teams had to build and light a fire. Using their communication and teamwork skills, children managed to keep it alive and grow their fire. Meanwhile, the other half of their team made a ‘Guy’ to go on the top. Children had a range of tools, such as secateurs, loppers and scissors, as well as straw, cloth and string to make their effigies. Once made, they were added to the top of the fire. If time, children also had the opportunity to roast an apple over their fire for a warm tasty treat to end their Bonfire Night session – well done LKS2!
