LKS2 – Cave Art – Art – 7.9.26
LKS2 have begun the half term by exploring chalk pastels and charcoal in their art lesson, experimenting with a range of marks, movements, pressures and techniques inspired by Stone Age cave art. The children also learned how Stone Age people created their own paints and pigments from natural materials and the different ways they applied them to cave walls. They made thoughtful and creative choices as they explored colour, tone and texture to create their own cave-art inspired images. The children also reflected on the techniques they experimented with, discussing their work and identifying the marks and effects they enjoyed using the most. Can your child remember how Stone Age people made their paints and pigments and the different techniques they used to apply them to the cave walls?
