LKS2 – Class 5 – Science

Today in science, Class 5 investigated complete and incomplete circuits. First, we got into a circle and all held hands. We acted out a current of electricity passing around the circle acting out a complete circuit. We added in a bulb, buzzer and a switch. We discussed how the electricity is flowing around from the cell in a full continuous movement. We then separated some of our hands, which broke the continuous flow of electricity and we discussed how this would impact the components.

We then investigated complete and incomplete circuits by either creating them using the components or drawing them on a white board. Our partner then had to answer the following questions:

Can you label or identify the components?

State if the circuit is complete or incomplete?

Explain how to fix it if the circuit is incomplete

All the children used fantastic scientific vocabulary and reasoning throughout the investigation, well done!
