LKS2 – Class 5 – Topic Day

Today, Year 4 enjoyed a day full of activities and learning about the changes that took place between the Stone Age and the Bronze Age. This morning, we used hoola hoops to create a giant Venn diagram, and sorted statements to show the similarities and differences between the two Ages. This afternoon we took part in 3 fun activities testing our knowledge of the Stone Age, and also using our Computing and DT skills. One task required us to use our research skills to look up information about Skara Brae, a Stone Age settlement. Next, we created designs of a Stone Age burial chamber, using iPads and laptops to research what it should look like. Finally, we played a card game. We had to rate various Stone Age items on their rarity, usefulness and safety. Then, in groups of three we took on the role of different Stone Age people – one farmer, one fisherman, and one hunter gatherer. We swapped and traded the cards based on what we think our character would need the most! The children worked really hard and used fantastic historical skills – well done, Class 5!
