LKS2 – Forest School – 4.6.26

Pupils in LKS2 have enjoyed another Viking themed session at Forest School today where previous learning, knowledge and skills were put to the test! Children had the opportunity to carry out various Viking related tasks across the day which would have been part of everyday Viking life. Children were challenged to makes fires using the knowledge of fire lays, the fire triangle and how to manage, maintain and grow a fire. Groups were also tasked with creating mini-Viking longships using the well-known features of these remarkable vessels before casting them off across the North Sea – hoping they would float! If they didn’t, children went back to the designing stage where they discussed the possible issues and sought to rectify them. Finally, children could also craft using trollen wheels, beads and tools to create bracelets and necklaces as well as plaits and braids. Well done on a very busy day LKS2!
