LKS2 – Games – Forest School
Today pupils in LKS2 have built on their knowledge of Forest School games. To begin with, children could choose to play one of the four games we have already learnt. Whether they were playing Ninja Sticks, Stick Toss, Fire and Tarps or Tail grab, pupils had to ensure the games were fun and fair by knowing, sharing and following the rules of the game. Afterwards, we discussed the make up of games and, despite them seeming quite unstructured, they are only good games that people want to play when they have firm rules which are followed. Children then had the rest of the session to devise their own games using a range of resources available to them – from ribbons and sticks blindfolds, rope and bells. There were some excellent games created, such as Forest Fetch and Stick Ladders, and the children had a wonderful time learning and playing them with their friends. Some were so good that Mr Gamble is going to add them to his bank of Forest School games to play with others in the future! Well done LKS2!
