Shelter Skills – KS1 – Forest School – 21.4.26
After a long Easter break, pupils in KS1 were challenged to apply the skills learnt before the holiday into their sessions today to see what they could remember. Children organised themselves into teams where they could choose to make a shelter for themselves to fit inside and play in or for animal toys to role play with. Teams had to choose the between the types of shelter they had been learning to make (tepee, lean-to or A-frame) and then build it correctly using the right features in an appropriate place for that type of den. Once constructed carefully and correctly and after using tarps to add the finishing touches, pupils could decorate and play inside the larger ones or use the animal puppets and toys to role-play games and take part in imaginative play. Well done KS1 on a lovely day outside and for remembering so much of what we had done in March.
