Sports for Champions 31.03.26
On Tuesday, the whole school had a fantastic day taking part in Sports for Champions. James Dasaolu came to the school to take part in some fitness circuits with the children. He started the day by introducing himself in an assembly and talking to the children about his journey and experience in competing. He talked about being resilient throughout his journey and being open to new opportunities when he was younger to find a love and talent for running. Afterwards, each class took part in a warm up that was led by some children in Ks2 and a fitness circuit that included rocket jumps, push ups, planks and high knees. The circuit was led by James and supported by some children in KS2. All the children were enthusiastic, worked incredibly hard throughout the circuits and had a wonderful time taking part.
Thank you to all those who were sponsored for the event. Rewards for those who were sponsored will be delivered for after the holiday. Overall, the children raised £2,596.80. Some of this money will go towards supporting athletes like James to visit schools and educate, enable, and empower more children with a view to inspiring them to be the champions of tomorrow. The rest of the money will go towards the school and improve the resources for our PE. We will update you in the near future with the exciting investments of the funds!
