UKS2 – computing – Digital Literacy 1 – 7/9/26

Upper Key Stage 2 have been developing their understanding of online safety and responsible use of technology in their Computing lessons. As part of this, pupils have been exploring how search engines work and considering how reliable and trustworthy the information they find online really is.

The children have been learning how search engines crawl, index and rank websites, and have explored why certain results appear higher than others. They have also developed their skills in using effective search terms and keywords to find accurate and relevant information.

Through practical activities and search challenges, pupils have been encouraged to become critical and responsible digital users, thinking carefully about the information they encounter online and considering whether a source can be trusted before using it.
